Robert C. Groner

August 7, 1955 - March 25, 2022

Robert C. Groner 66 of Bangor passed away Friday March 25th at St. Luke’s Hospital- Anderson Campus. Robert was born in Easton, PA, a son of the late Blaine and Lillian ( Thorpe ) Groner. He was a graduate of Bangor High School in 1974 and had worked in the shipping department of Universal Sportswear of Bangor for many years. He enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of UNITE- garment workers union. Robert is survived by his companion and care giver Barbara Riley of Bangor, four step-daughters; Sheila Varenkamp of Glen Gardner, NJ, Renee Sweetman of East Stroudsburg, Penny Hall of Pen Argyl and Wendy McCollum of Catasauqua; six step-grandchildren and a six nephews.. He was predeceased by a brother Richard and a sister Elaine Martin , a niece Shirley Compton. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Services are under the car of the Fiore Funeral Home 230 Market Street Bangor. Memorial Donations may be offered to the Funeral home to help defray funerals expenses.
