Joan M Broad Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Joan M. Broad 84 of Shinglehouse, Pa and formerly of White Township, NJ passed away Tuesday March 30th in Slate Belt Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Bangor. Joan was born in Washington D.C. a daughter of the late Joseph H and Florence E. (Price) Moore. She and her beloved husband Bruce W Broad were married for 62 years last July. Born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area where she developed a love of reading through a beloved 6th grade teacher. They resided and raised their family in White Township, NJ. After Bruce retired they moved to Shinglehouse, PA in the early 1990’s where they became involved in their newly adopted community and fostered many wonderful friendships while taking part in various charity fundraisers. She excelled in Arts & Crafts, most notably sewing and quilting and loved animals especially dogs and horses. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church of Oxford, NJ and later the First Baptist Church of Shinglehouse, Pa and also was longtime member of Eastern Star, first in New Jersey and later in Pennsylvania. In addition to her husband Bruce, she is survived by a son David B. and his wife Patricia of Bangor, a daughter Michelle Holdridge and her husband Mark of Preston, CT, two grandchildren; Daniel B. Holdridge of Ledyard, CT and Katherine E. Holdridge of Boston.MA, a sister Donna L. Field and her husband Michael of Centreville, Md. She was predeceased by a brother Joseph H. Moore, MD.
