Theresa Cotturo

Theresa M. Cotturo, 84, of Bangor, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Sunday July 16th, 2023, the Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, after a long and well-lived life. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and sister. Theresa M. Cotturo was born on October 1st, 1938 in Roseto, Pennsylvania. She graduated as valedictorian from Pius X High School. She graduated from Rosemont College in 1960 with a major in History and as a member of the Kistler Honor Society, the highest academic honor one can receive. Upon graduation, she earned her Stock Broker’s License. She worked for a time at Loeb, Rhoades & Co. Theresa was a loving and devoted mother of two children and grandmother. A trailblazer for women in the financial workforce, after raising her family, Theresa returned to the workforce, spending the rest of her career working at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. She was a kind and generous soul. Theresa enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to entertain, garden and play the piano. Devoted to her Church, she volunteered her time to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, serving as an organist. Theresa will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her love, kindness, and quick wit. Survivors: She is survived by a son, P. Christopher Cotturo, his wife, Hope V. Cotturo, of Bangor, and their daughter, Mary Cotturo; a daughter, Nicole M. Cotturo (Brungard), her husband, Randy Brungard of Howard, their child Paul Brungard, his wife, Kelsey Brungard and their children, Blake and Miles Brungard; her two brothers, Isidore Capozzolo of New Jersey and Charles Capozzolo and his wife, Margaret Capozzolo, of Bethlehem; a beloved extended family including cousins, nieces and nephews. She was lovingly cared for by Lana and Gail, among others. Services: Mass of Christian Burial, will be celebrated on Thursday July 20th at 11am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at the corner of Third and Garibaldi Avenues in Roseto. No calling hours.
