Douglas J. “Doug” Wynne. 72, of Bangor, passed away Sunday, July 14 in St. Luke’s Hospital- Anderson Campus, surrounded by his loving family. Doug was born in Bethlehem, PA, a son of the late George and Minnie (Cortazzo) Wynne Sr. He and his beloved wife Janice (Williams) Wynne were married 48 years last November. Doug was a 1969 graduate of Pen Argyl High and Kutztown University in 1973. He was the Art teacher at the White Township Consolidated School, Belvidere, NJ retiring after 35 years. He received the 1991 Teacher of the Year award and had coached several Boys and girls sports teams. He was a local artist who painted many scenes of our beautiful area. For as much as Doug loved to paint, his real passion was sharing his love of art with many students over the years. Doug is beyond talented, not just due to his impressive artistic ability, but also in his ability to teach and inspire others. He is a grounded man with a deep appreciation and passion for ensuring that what was seen, and what is seen, will live on and be preserved through his art. It is about “ Leaving fingerprints and a legacy behind. Doug was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Bangor and the Slate Belt Quoit League. In addition to his wife Janice, he is survived by his daughter Heather Aulisio and her husband Bryan and their son Matthew, a son Derek Wynne, and a brother George Jr and his wife Doris his Mother in Law Marian Williams, a brother in Law Cliff Williams Jr and his wife Diana and nieces and a nephew. Graveside services will be on Friday, July 19 at 11 AM in St. John’s Cemetery, Bangor with Rev. Elisandra Garcia officiating. There will be no calling hours. Services are under the care of the Fiore Funeral Home 230 Market Street Bangor.
